2 GTA police officers charged with impaired driving

Two police officers, including the president of the Peel Regional Police Association, were charged with impaired driving last weekend.

Ontario Provincial Police said Adrian Woolley, 44, was stopped on Saturday night while allegedly speeding on the Queen Elizabeth Way in Burlington, his hometown. Peel Regional Police confirmed Woolley is a member of the force and heads the police association.

Woolley has been charged with impaired driving and stunt driving in connection with the incident.

Meanwhile, York Regional Police Const. Tina Teeter, 42, was caught while allegedly driving impaired on Hwy. 400 around 5 p.m. on Sunday, the OPP said.

York police said Teeter has been placed on administrative duties following the incident.

York Regional Police, which now post a weekly list of drivers busted for impaired driving, said the officer was among 18 arrested last week in separate incidents.

“We are committed to the fight against impaired driving and we hold our members to the same, if not higher, standard than members of our community,” said Chief Eric Jolliffe in a news release.
